Has anyone seen this symbol anywhere?

This might be totally a irrelevant object, but I find it mysterious as I cannot identify it. When it was found I thought I recognized it, it looked so familiar. But it appears I'm wrong in associating it with Star Trek. For all I know it could be a child's toy. I have scoured the internet for clues to it's origin to no avail. So maybe someone can help me out here? I'm quite curious as to what it is.

The reason I post it here is that if you asked me where it comes from, I'd say another time. (And that's my fanciful speculation because I just don't know. Right?) And frankly, I'm not sure where else to ask. The object seemed to be metal, unsure if it was ferromagnetic. The circular type markings look like they may have held something in them. But they look damaged, melted. Like it had been exposed to intense heat. Other marks on the surface look like peeling. On the back were two pieces of the same material, one on each end, folded over toward the center.

It does look vaguely familiar to me. Seems as if it could be an emblem on a car. From the pic, I would surmise that there was an additional segment that has broken off at those three break points.

Come on. Just tell them what it was that you photographed on November 17, 2011 at 21:33:42 with your Samsung SGH i896 phone.

This looks very much like a computer animation. The guy may have photographed the monitor or a printed picture.

The object was found by a good friend of mine (at the time) on his 20 acre property, in a storage trailer I believe. That's what he told me anyway when he brought it to the house. I lived there then, on the 13th property from the corner in a rural area near Calgary, AB. The place is known, mostly not for good reasons. And the land is strange. He still lives there. And he still possesses the object, as far as I know. It's not a picture of a picture, or CGI or anything. I held it in my hand. It's roughly 2" across lengthwise.

And if I knew what it was, I wouldn't still be trying to figure it out!

My ex had quite an elaborate explanation as to it's usefulness. Something to do with "them watching" and the H1N1 shot. My ex is also not exactly sane. He's known for his far out stories that would be difficult to prove accurate, if one was to even consider attempting to. Therefore, an unreliable source.

I've spent a couple of hours looking through automotive emblems with no luck. Tried out Googles reverse image search with no luck.

I suppose it could have been some type of broach that could be worn.

My next hunt will be through medals of honor.

A broach you say, hm.... I will not be surprised if the next claim will be, that it was the necklace of a time traveler, and it was a quake necklace - something like that:

http://www.google.bg/imgres?imgurl=...iact=rc&uact=3&dur=725&page=1&start=0&ndsp=19

Which necklace was spagetified from the black hole during the time traveling and came here in our timeline stretched as you see it.

Perhaps some underaged jerk wants to prove on this way that quake computer game is forever (it is now and it will be in the future since the time traveler wears it).

It will be interesting for me to see also the spagetified time traveler :) :) :) :)

Good find seivtcho. Looking through a symbol site, another possibility is that the image could possibly be representative of Poseidon (the Trident).

With two tabs that bend on the back, wouldn't it be made for a custom uniform or hat ? Don't think the pins made with the bendable tabs pierced through material like those with the pointy-pin attachment thingy.

There are a lot more belt buckles made with this particular shape. So this might be a belt buckle or a brooch.

Perhaps for an elf -lol- it's too small. The pieces on the back of it were not bendable (by hand anyways) & I wish I had photographed the back of it. I've done so many searches for it, ancient scripture, religious symbols, vehicle logos - I do think it's vehicle related, but idk why. Symbol/logo searches by description, Google images, E-bay, antiques sites...

Most people tend to agree that it looks familiar. Why?

I saw an actual fireball in the sky one night not long ago, & it was amazing. So lately I fancy it's a symbol of a meteor falling across a crescent moon.

Yup, plus the shape of the item with the logo looks like it is a guitar feather.
Seiv, I did post a photo of a guitar pick. (Are they called feathers in the east? Perhaps ancient guitars were plucked with feathers...) However, the original photo on page 1 of the thread looks to be more of an emblem or crest perhaps.

I dub this the biggest mystery of 2014!
I concur. I've looked at hundreds of images, trying numerous descriptions in searching for this - can't find it. I've even showed the image to a friend that collects vintage pins, hat buttons and medallions, and he can't find it either. o_O

In other news, I found this emblem when digging in my yard, along with some large plates of bone-like material. Any ideas?

After looking at the photo intensely for about 5 minutes it occurred to me why it looks so familiar to so many people. I think it is an old badge and/or logo for Concorde. Just looking at it, it looks most like a Concorde jet out of any aircraft. Here is a similar logo for Concorde: http://mach2.concorde.free.fr/logo_concorde.jpg
I haven't looked into this too deeply yet as I need to get some sleep but I really think that it is Concorde related. I think if someone were to search hard enough they might find more of these metal badges. To me it looks like a badge or label. It may even be a stylized Concorde souvenir. Perhaps even a commemorative badge or medallion?

That's the frustrating thing, about that 'badge' , there are quite a few designs that are similar ( close but no cigar type of thing ). I tried Soviet trinket's, Canadian emblems ( since I believe 13yearsnake lives in Canada - awesome photographs posted on Deviantart btw 13year ) , THEN thought... how do we know that the badge is facing the right way ?

I looked at Egyptian jeweler, Turkish jeweler, Epitome and Luna guitars and crescent moon shaped jeweler in general. No exact match. If this is a custom piece we may never find it's match. I wish I could see the back. By the description it may be a scarf tie clasp or slide. Does anyone else remember how the back of a Boy Scout neckerchief slide looked? Two bent tabs.

May I suggest a different point of view? To me it looks like it's the base of something. An action figure perharps?
Those three gray areas do look like something was glued onto them, welded maybe.

Its from an oldsmobile but I can't say what year or where it was used. I think it either covered the lock on the trunk or glove compatrment. I remember tracing my fingers over the emblem on the inside door as a child.
